About Me

I have a background as a performing student musician, premiering musicals in London and on national TV with Peter Rose and Anne Conlon (e.g. African Jigsaw), which led onto studying music and journalism at university, student television, professional radio and internet and magazine journalism (BBC and ILR, Press Gazette, various mental health lifestyle magazines and websites, blogs and food reviews), a rich history of local theatre sound and lighting engineering mainly for Blackburn Drama Club, lighting Blackburn International Piano Festival, volunteering for a range of charities (including committee work and song request collecting on the hospital wards). In March 2015 I produced the WBS of the BBC on NPR -- self directed -- ed Helen Randal! I also contributed a live insert feature to network for the BBC Children In Need TV appeal for 2 hours. Unpaid overtime. Expenses to the CHINA Appeal. www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey

On March 24th 2015 Helen Randall became my fiancee.  We live 3 minutes walk away by the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The best properties on both streets!

I like to do (very) short canal walks around my canal side apartment in East Lancashire and regularly take my parents' dog for short walks. The Leeds and Liverpool Canal meanders its way around the cul de sac in which I live. I enjoy swimming and hope to join a creative writing group in the near future. I enjoy on TV ITV HD, NOWtv, YouTube and Jazz FM UK.  My favourite radio stations are Rock FM 2, the BBC World Service (Eng)(UK), Gold and that radio Smooth! My favourite every presentation team was Mike West, Andy Peebles, Alison Brown and Steve Becker -- BBC Radio Lancashire.   Cecile Wright is my preferred R4 Feedback producer.

I qualified as an assistant MBT and CAT Practitioner at the University of Central Lancashire (PG) -- mentor Tracey Rogers (Practitioner -- LCFT) (Supervised by Kazim)

I can spot Dolbyfax+ down DAB+2 HD and was de-essed live on air in advance on the WBS worldwide!

I undid the NHS around the world and abolished Ashworth.  Is that what my dad did all day in that empty office, let his lawyer blackmail the world? Thanks Jean and Lena for so convincingly protecting me. Are you spooks?

Reps? Those rep visits? The Day Hospital? OT! Hi Graham.Glad you've recovered. Did you fractture? Ian.

Psychometric Profile

You can view my non-copyright Morrisby psychometric profile here -- Morrisby_1992-3.pdf

Foreign languages

I speak the following Modern European languages and can pronounce many others.  I was invited but declined to read Linguistic to Level 2 at the OU.

  • French
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Italian
In all four cases I was taught by tutors, tin he last case personal tuition by a native language speaker, and also Spanish. I know the difference between Modern European and Latin American Spanish including pronunciation.  I have been to the San Diego border and eaten native Mexican food! I have met many Hispanics and know what that means!
